Our products are made to stringent standards.

The equipment we manufacture is made to the strictest and most stringent standards found in ANY pager system worldwide.

We are a caring manufacturer that always considers environmental and legislative aspects very carefully and are always fully compliant regarding the differing standards and legislation in the many areas of the world which is our selling environment.

Our products are certified to meet all standards in the countries in which they are sold with the correct approvals.

However, you may find that other companies, some of which supply your territory are actually non compliant to legislation and standards which should be adhered to for the longer term and the good of the environment in this new millennium.

Remember, it is not just an offence by the importer (most of them are just simple distributors of equipment) but it can also be an offence by the buyer and operator of the equipment - in some cases illegal product could be confiscated and destroyed with no recourse by the buyer and operator.

We advise ALL potential pager system customers to check their supplier and ensure that the supplier IS FULLY COMPLIANT, it matters, and it could cost you the investment if you do not ensure that the equipment you buy IS compliant to your territory. Most Equipment within Europe needs to comply regarding CE and RoHS compliance and WEEE compliance if applicable.

Here is a reminder about our products:

The European Economic Union’s Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) directive is aimed at minimizing the impacts of electrical and electronic equipment on the environment by designing products with recycling in mind and encouraging reuse, recycling and recovery of WEEE. The WEEE directive applies to a huge range of electrical equipment, including Long Range Systems products, and was enforced by European law starting August 15, 2005.

In conjunction with the EEU’s WEEE directive is the related Restriction of Hazardous Substances (RoHS) directive. The aim of this directive is to reduce the hazardous materials content in electronic products. Specifically, it bans electronic equipment from being sold in Europe after July 1, 2006 if it contains more than trace levels of lead, hexavalent chromium, cadmium, mercury or certain brominated flame-retardants.

Long Range Systems Role
Long Range Systems supports both these initiatives and has already taken steps to address their requirements. Where necessary, our products are being labeled with the following WEEE mark.

This is a reminder to our users to return their equipment to their dealer or a recycling facility at the end of its life. For products not labeled with the WEEE mark, the product serial number can be used to determine the date of manufacture for recycling purposes, as detailed further below. Additionally, Long Range Systems will soon provide component and material information for our products for use by recycling facilities.

We also meet RoHS requirements. Long Range Systems has modified its complete product line to ensure RoHS compliance. RoHS declarations are available for compliant products upon request.

Date of Manufacture
To assist with recycling efforts, Long Range Systems labels many of its products with the date the product was manufactured. To determine the date of manufacture, locate the product serial number, an 8-digit string starting with that can be found on a label on the product itself. On the same label is a date just below the CE print. The format is Month, Year. In the case of pagers there is always a pager ID which is used to page the pager. Below the ID number on the same label is a date code shown as Month, Year in a similar manner to the code on the Serial Label.
